In 1958–1959, the building construction of the Labská kotlina II housing estate began. Besides atypical duplex and terraced buildings, three seventeen-storey “skyscrapers” were built here near Rašín´s embankment. Greenery was added to the space between the buildings.
The southern part of “V Lipkách“ Street is located between its intersection with Střelecká Street and Veverka´s Street. The entire “V Lipkách“ Street is characterized by its linden alley. In the space between this street and the Labská kotlina II residential area, there are public spaces with very interesting wooden species. The garden around the Giant Aquarium building, which has been operating since 1998, offers suitable conditions for the growth of exotic trees.
