Origin: eastern Asia
Habitat in the original area: forests and shrubs in the areas of hills and mountains
Habitus: A liana with woody stems climbing along the substrate, to which it attaches with tendrils and suction cups.
Leaf: The leaves with serrated edges are simple and divided into three lobes. They are vivid green in colour, shiny on top and with fine trichomes on the underside of the veins. In autumn, the leaves turn orange to crimson.
Bloom, fruit: It blooms from June to July. The fruits are spherical berries of dark blue colour and with a frosty surface.
Interesting fact: These lianas have numerous names. The scientific name is Parthenocissus. However, they are also known under the name of Creeper or they are popularly referred to as dog wine.
